Bikeability and Cycling for all

I am a qualified National Standard Instructor and teach Bikeability (previously known as Cycling Proficiency) for East Sussex County Council. I have an enhanced DBS. I also work with the disabled at Eastbourne Sports Park, helping deliver the 'Wheels for all' service (see the two videos).

In 2017 & 2018 I delivered Bikeabilty training in over 30 different (mainly primary) schools in East Sussex. During 2017 I worked with over 800 children. In holiday times I successfully taught beginners from the age of three and worked with numerous able and disabled adults, building confidence and technique.

Stay Safe - Bike Maintenance and First Aid
Freedom: Cycling is a great lifestyle choice, a superb cardiovascular exercise and the endorphins released are good for your mental health.

You can ride alone, or with friends and both explore and experience the stunning countryside for miles around

Chris Martin - National 24-Hour - June 1999

Above: My finest moment as a competitive cyclist was when I finished 5th in the 1999 National 24 Hour Time Trial Championship, in which I covered a distance of 438.173 miles.

I joined the Lewes Wanderers in 1995. I was looking for a new sport to keep me fit and healthy and was introduced to Time Trialing and Road Racing.

I was the Chairman 2009 - 2017. I built and regularly updated the club website from 1998 and maintained the club archive.
